School-Home Support, a charity that works with vulnerable children and families in schools across the UK, wanted to show the economic value of it’s work to support its case for future funding. Robust evidence of its impact was scarce due to the preventative nature of its work, making it difficult to collect data and attribute it to School-Home Support.
Funded by the Gatsby Charitable foundation, Matrix conducted a rapid evidence review and an economic modelling exercise. By looking for robust research on similar interventions from across the English speaking world, Matrix found relevant impact data and coupled it with results of large epidemiological studies to work out the subsequent effects of receiving School-Home Support.
School-Home Support now have a robust study that has quantified the economic benefit of its work, strengthening their case to policy makers and funders. The study complied with academic and government guidelines, ensuring the validity of its findings.
