Academic Health Science Centre, London

The capacity planning module of aspirahub was used successfully to support the development of a strategic business case for the development of an Academic Health Science Centre (AHSC) for Hammersmith Hospitals NHS Trust, St Mary’s NHS Trust and Imperial College.

Hammersmith Hospitals NHS Trust and St Mary’s NHS Trust both used the planning module to conduct extensive and rigorous data analysis for modelling activity and enabling future capacity planning under different scenarios. The tool enables the analysis at different levels and dimensions such as models of care, specialty and HRG service configuration opportunities for the Centre across its constituent sites.

The AHSC vision is now becoming as reality, with a major milestone being reached in Autumn 2007 through the merger of the Trusts to become the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
