A knowledge base for public health commissioners

The Integrated Care Partnership (ICP) commissioned Matrix to produce a toolkit to identify how public health approaches to maximise well-being can be integrated into the commissioning, planning and delivery of services. Much is written about commissioning and public health, but there are few places where insight concerning how to enable commissioning and public health is integrated. The guide we produced contains details on a range of public health tools and techniques including health needs assessment, health equity audits, health impact assessment and various evaluation methodologies. The guide offers suggestions for leaders involved in the commissioning or provision of integrated services about how to apply these techniques to their situation and provides case studies illustrating these different approaches in action.
